The Commercial Insurance Company was a fire and marine insurance firm established in Boston, Mass. in 1823. Several of the directors of the newly founded Massachusetts Hospital Life Insurance Company had interests in the company. It was placed in liquidation in 1826. Moses L. Hale (1799-1874) was secretary of the Commercial Insurance Company and of the Massachusetts Hospital Life Insurance Company.
